Job Description: About the Role: Our Research & Development Center based in Omaha, NE has an outstanding opportunity for a Food Technician. As a Food Technician you will be responsible for supporting the design, planning, validation, and implementation of new products, line extensions, and product improvements. This role ensures that all products meet quality and safety standards while providing technical support for product offerings.
You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to: - Conduct routine tests in the laboratory, pilot plant, and production environments following established procedures.
- Perform technical assignments of simple to moderate complexity under supervision.
- Evaluate and record results of testing, including product attributes, formulations, and processing parameters; maintain organized records of all results.
- Communicate test results and observations to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Support bench-top and pilot plant testing, plant trials, and product start-ups in collaboration with scientists and operations staff.
- Coordinate the shipment of products and ingredients as required.
- Maintain appropriate inventories of commonly used ingredients and laboratory supplies to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop customer R&D samples and ship them to customers as requested.
- Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
Important Details: - This is a full-time, on-site role on first shift.
You'll fit right in if you have: - High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in food product development or research and development (R&D) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of laboratory equipment, food safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
