LHH is seeking a Cost Accountant for our client located in North Houston. This entry-level position involves establishing product costs, reconciling them to actual costs, and participating in operations reporting and special projects. It offers excellent career mobility and growth opportunities

Work Schedule: Hybrid 3 days WFH 2 days in office

Key Responsibilities:

• Support month-end closing activities for Cost Accounting, including the preparation of journal entries.
• Analyze inventory and PPV variances while ensuring compliance with all JSox controls.
• Assist in preparing actual vs. budget analysis and various financial analyses related to manufacturing costs and expenses for different product lines as needed for operational support.
• Establish new raw material and finished goods product costs, and maintain periodic cost roll-ups and updates.
• Prepare cost estimates for new and proposed products.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for finished goods and production components within an ERP system.
• Help maintain and improve processes and controls related to manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
• Document policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
• Represent the Finance-Accounting team on initiatives aimed at improving operations and reducing costs.
• Analyze cost variances.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience

Compensation: $70K - $80K
