Westminster Schools of Augusta
Westminster Schools of Augusta is a Pre-K through 12 regionally-accredited, coeducational, college-preparatory, Christian day school enrolling over 550 students. The 34-acre campus is located in a residential section of Augusta, which is Georgia’s second-largest metropolitan area. The school is affiliated with First Presbyterian Church of Augusta (PCA), but the student body and faculty include members from more than 90 different local churches of various denominations.

Upper School Social Studies Teacher
Talented and energetic educators interested in becoming an Upper School Social Studies Teacher for the 2025-26 school year can begin the application process found on the school website at . Candidates ideally would have an undergraduate degree in History or Social Studies education with a willingness and enthusiasm to teach from a biblical worldview.
Primary Responsibilities
Teach courses in Human Geography, Economics, and/or Government, following the course of study adopted by Westminster Schools of Augusta.
Willingness to coach/lead in cocurricular activities such as Yearbook or Debate.
Expectations
Applies a Christian worldview to pedagogy and course content.
Exhibits a love for students and a desire to disciple them in their relationship with Christ.
Utilizes an adopted course of study, instructional program guidelines, and other materials in planning and developing lesson plans and teaching outlines to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicates those objectives to students.
Advances students' written, verbal, and critical thinking skills.
Prepares, administers, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate students’ progress.
Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities.
Creates and maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning and engagement.
Counsels, confers with and communicates with parents, school, and administration regarding student progress and the interpretation of the educational program.
Performs a variety of non-instructional duties, including curriculum and instructional development activities, student supervision, and consultation activities.
Maintains high standards of professional conduct and support of the Christian mission of the school in an independent school setting.
Assists with related projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Adheres to the highest standards of professionalism, collegiality, and personal conduct.
Meets deadlines.
Punctual and reliable attendance.
Supports and abides by school employment policies.
Education & Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in history or social studies education; Master’s degree preferred or at least three years of social studies teaching experience. Training or experience in AP instruction is helpful.
Regular attendance and/or active involvement in a Christian, Bible-believing church.
A strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement.
A belief that all students can learn at high levels and should be held to high academic standards.
Ability to work collaboratively with administration and teaching teams.
Ability to communicate with students and partner with parents.
Ability and eagerness to lead or assist in co-curricular activities (debate team, academic team, athletics, or school club).
Strong organizational skills and insights on how to teach a class with wide ranging abilities.
Ability to integrate technology in the classroom to enhance teaching.
