Job DescriptionAnoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking two (2) unlimited, full-time Mathematics faculty members. The position supports students by accommodating a wide range of student needs, creating personal connections with students and colleagues, connecting students with resources for their success, and offering availability to students inside and outside class.Candidates will be asked to teach developmental and first- and second-year college-level math courses from beginning algebra to differential equations, including statistics.The successful candidate will collaboratively engage with their discipline, division, campus and college through service on committees, professional development, and active involvement in other college initiatives. The Math Department has a strong commitment to innovative teaching practices including active learning and other student-centered teaching practices; new faculty would be encouraged to implement comparable innovative practices.Candidates could expect assignments to evening and online course sections. This position may teach courses associated with both the Coon Rapids and Cambridge campuses of Anoka-Ramsey Community College. The primary teaching responsibilities will be at the Rapids campus.Minimum QualificationsEducation Requirement:Master?s degree with a major in Mathematics ORMaster?s degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in MathematicsPreferred QualificationTeaching experience in mathematics, formal or informal, direct or indirectDemonstrated success working in a collaborative environmentExperience or a strong interest in integrating research-supported student-centered learning techniques such as active learning, the use of academic technologies, culturally responsive teaching, and other proven strategies to support success for diverse communities of studentsDemonstrated commitment to creating welcoming opportunities to connect with students one-on-one such as alternate/flexible availability, college events, club advising, and partnering with and promoting resources inside and outside the classroomDemonstrated commitment to academic needs and reduce the equity gap of diverse communities of students, including non-traditional students, non-native speakers of English, students from different cultures, students with disabilities, first-generation college students, and many othersExperience designing and implementing assessments that are accurate measures of a student?s progress and competencySALARY BENEFITSFull-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51,303 -$94,592. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs. ** Please note, Initial Step Placement is established by the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. About Anoka-Ramsey Community College
Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) is a multi-campus institution and a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. The Coon Rapids Campus is located on the banks of the Mississippi River twentymiles north of downtown Minneapolis. The Cambridge Campus is located on west Highway 95 on the Rum River in Cambridge. Beginning in 1965 with 600 students in a wing of Centennial High School in Circle Pines, Anoka-Ramsey Community College has grown considerably. In 1967 the college moved to the current Coon Rapids Campus of approximately 103 acres. The Cambridge Campus opened in 1978 and has shown consistent growth in enrollment and facilities. In addition, students may complete many ARCC college courses at convenient off-site locations throughout neighboring communities. During the 2008-2009 academic year, more than 11,000 students completed credit classes at the college.
