Under the direction of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director, the Spa and Fitness Director is responsible for all aspects of the Spa and Fitness Center, including general operations and financial performance.

What you’ll accomplish:

  • Staffing, coordinating, and supervising employees and contractors
  • Developing and implementing training and education opportunities
  • Ensuring that health and safety standards set forth by local, state, and national requirements are being met
  • Maintaining current licenses and certifications
  • Instructing group fitness classes
  • Managing employee paperwork, work schedules, and payroll
  • Conducting regular fitness and wellness staff meetings
  • Scheduling front desk coverage
  • Implementing company policies, operating procedures, and standards with an emphasis on safety, excellent service practices, and relationship building
  • Monitoring / updating point of sale system with current information
  • Facilitating independent contractor agreements in accordance with CCMC policy
  • Leading presentations about fitness, wellness, and health related topics
  • Completing all necessary deliverables set by Executive Director including reports and analysis on Spa & Fitness Center operations
  • Inspecting facilities and equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness
  • Managing budgets and keeping diligent records from annual operating budget to daily cash intake / bank deposits
  • Working with Communications team to increase marketing presence and promote membership
  • Acting as a liaison between the community and other industry partners

What we’re looking for:

  • Associates degree or higher in physical therapy, physical education or exercise science from an accredited college
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position or related field
  • CPR/First Aid Safety/Automated External Defibrillator certification
  • Must be able to acquire personal trainer liability insurance and have named Association and CCMC as additional insureds
  • Extensive knowledge of fitness/physical training for adults and the requirements of the American with Disabilities Act
  • Evening and weekend work may be required. Employee is expected to respond to after-hours problems at the Spa & Fitness Center
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise personnel, vendors and volunteers
  • Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office experience
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

If driving is, or becomes, a requirement of the role, it is required, at all times, that you hold a valid state driver’s license for the class of vehicle you are driving, maintain a clean motor vehicle report, and hold current automobile insurance at statutory limits. You must notify Human Resources immediately regarding any change to your motor vehicle standing. CCMC may periodically review motor vehicle reports to ensure compliance with these requirements.

The physical requirements can vary, but generally, they may include:

  • Mobility: Ability to walk the grounds long distances in various weather conditions.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifting and carrying supplies or equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Extended Sitting or Standing: Capability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings or events.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skills in using technology, including computers and mobile devices.
  • Driving: Ability to operate vehicle to perform certain job functions. (Please note: We will request and review an MVR at the time of hire and on a periodic basis thereafter to ensure that employees maintain a satisfactory driving status.)
