Who You Are We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our growing team in Western New York.
In this role, you will focus on building automation solutions, integrating systems via APIs, and supporting critical IT operations. You will gain hands-on experience automating real-world environments across security, networking, and cloud platforms.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop deep technical skills in scripting, system integration, and enterprise-scale automation, while working alongside senior engineers in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do - Design and develop automation tools to optimize internal workflows and managed IT services.
- Write scripts (primarily in PowerShell and Python) to collect, process, and synchronize data across multiple platforms.
- Develop and maintain API integrations between systems such as ConnectWise, Meraki, Fortinet, and others.
- Manage and optimize SQL databases for automation workflows and reporting.
- Assist with building intelligent chatbot solutions leveraging Microsoft Bot Framework and AI technologies.
- Support cybersecurity and cloud automation initiatives across a wide range of platforms.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell or Python scripting.
- Understanding of REST APIs and experience with API integration (academic, personal, or professional projects welcome).
- Familiarity with SQL databases and ability to write basic to intermediate queries.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for automation, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Must be able to work full-time, onsite at our Buffalo, NY office.
Preferred Skills - Familiarity with systems like ConnectWise, N-Able, Meraki, Fortinet, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to automation of cloud services, network devices, or cybersecurity tools.
- Experience with chatbot development, AI/ML integration, or middleware automation platforms.
- Version control experience with Git.
