Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

In-Park Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interact with guests, fellow team members, leads, and supervisors on a daily basis. Work with a diverse team. Cooperate with all team members and Park management.
  • Patrol Park property on foot and maintain a presence in the facility.
  • Communicate effectively with guests by being able to answer basic questions and give directions. Proactively approach guests to offer assistance, recommendations, or conversation.
  • Conduct all interactions with a professional, proactive, and friendly attitude toward both guests and fellow team members. Represent the Security department in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ensure guest safety and satisfaction in their stay at Six Flags by correcting and / or reporting safety concerns and guest concerns according to department policy.
  • Rapid response to any emergency situations in accordance with department policy and / or at the direction of department management.
  • Keep all information and documents confidential.
  • Assist with Park and unit cleaning as needed / directed.
  • Complete departmental reports in a timely and accurate fashion according to departmental policy.
  • Assist guests with problem solving and Park policy interpretations.
  • Work fixed posts designed to monitor guest entry, queue lines, backstage gates, and the parking lot / tolls.
  • Monitor and screen guests and / or team members via metal detection. Enforce prohibited items and dress code policies.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to Park policies relating to line-jumping, smoking, and behavior.
  • Monitor and use portable radio and learn radio ten codes.
  • Direct vehicle traffic safely by using proper hand signals.
  • Work in and around tollbooth safely.
  • Operate hand-held electronic device used to scan passes with parking to verify the validity of the pass.
  • Resolve guest situations / concerns that may arise on a daily basis in a calm and professional manner.
  • Use and operate Park equipment safely and correctly.
  • Maintain all job duties and responsibilities in outdoor weather conditions – regularly exposed to direct sunlight, wet humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat for long periods.
  • Adhere to all Park labor policies pertaining to breaks taken, length of shift, and types of work performed. Accurately record all shift and break times by using the Park’s labor tracking system.

    • Follow and enforce all park policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner at all times.
    • Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work well with others.
    • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with Guest, other Team Members, and leadership.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects, while paying close attention to details.
    • Use efficient time management to complete required tasks and projects.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs; ability to push and pull up to 150 lbs.
  • Occasional running, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and crawling.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat, as well as high levels of humidity and rain, occasionally for extended periods.
  • Ability to work occasionally in confined spaces and from high elevations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Willing to actively engage guests. Outgoing and friendly personality.
  • Must be comfortable using a phone, radio, and computer.
  • Capable of standing at a fixed position for long periods.
  • Capable of working in outdoor weather conditions – regularly exposed to direct sunlight, wet humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat for long periods of time.
  • Ability to handle moderate levels of stress related to high workload.
  • Must be able to work around a metal detector.
  • Safety awareness and general housekeeping.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Available to work flexible hours, at night, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be flexible to change.
  • Must be professional, self-motivated, and have an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Must have strong teamwork skills and ability to work with others.
  • Must possess strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to stand / walk up to 8 hours at a time and as many as 12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to walk up to 5 miles per day over various surfaces.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. consistently.
