This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required. Duties and Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections to prevent or eliminate environmental and sanitation health hazards; regulating food facilities, drinking water programs, food and bottled water receipt of goods and storage areas, and chemical latrines; enforcing health and safety laws and regulations; preparing and maintaining records of inspections; presenting community outreach programs; responding to public health complaints; assisting with influenza vaccination outreach and campaign; responding to communicable disease and foodborne illness outbreaks; providing referral to supervisor when problems occur beyond the scope of the position; addressing concerns on specific public health issues; recording and maintaining patient information; identifying and recording signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions; exercising skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making; making independent judgments and prioritizing workload; performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications include completion of an accredited public health program or related military technical school training; preferred bachelor's degree in related fields; at least one year of experience in inspection of food and drink establishments; Registered Sanitarian credential preferred; must complete Servsafe Instructor and Proctor courses and exams or equivalent; current CPR certification; knowledge of sanitation practices and food safety laws; ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent communication skills; proficiency with computers and MS Office; ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements; recent clinical experience in patient care for healthcare providers.
