Mail Clerk
2+ Months ( with potential for extension)
Binghamton, NY (Onsite)

Overview:
This position supports high-volume duplicating, production, sorting, mailing, and bindery tasks at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital. The role includes operating equipment, handling customer service requests, performing maintenance tasks, assisting with mail and print finishing, and managing office supplies. This position involves extensive walking and occasional heavy lifting.

Responsibilities:

• Operate high-volume production copy machines and perform binding and finishing tasks

• Ensure copiers are functioning properly by checking for quality and performing basic troubleshooting (clear jams, escalate issues to technicians)

• Set up equipment (e.g., add toner, stock paper) and assist with scanning or imaging tasks

• Distribute mail, faxes, office supplies, and completed jobs across the hospital campus

• Maintain service logs, daily meter readings, and inventory records

• Calculate charges for completed jobs and generate reports

• Assist with the shipping and receiving of materials and ensure accurate packing of items

• Perform occasional receptionist duties and meeting room setups

• Maintain cleanliness and stocking of copier areas

• Assist with building occupant moves and light maintenance tasks as assigned

• Perform other related duties including filing, mail sorting, and responding to customer inquiries

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of related work experience

• Basic knowledge of copier equipment and troubleshooting

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and walk extensively throughout the day

• Knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures and packing material handling

• Ability to work independently and flexibly

• Valid driver s license and auto insurance may be required

• TB test required upon hire (cost covered)

• Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required
