Equix Energy Services is an energy and utilities contractor that provides high-quality pipeline and facility construction services. The Equix team is built on pride in the workmanship and abilities of our crews. Equix Energy Services is currently seeking an efficient, safety-minded Directional Driller & Locator for underground utility construction services. We have long-term work available for the right candidate in a variety of positions and locations. Our current construction services focus primarily on the underground installation of natural gas distribution piping along with power and telecom infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identifies buried utilities utilizing specific locating devices
• Be able to read and understand utility provided maps/prints
• Familiar with Digitrack locating equipment for directional drills
• Operate Horizontal Directional Drills for underground utility installations
• Maintain all equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines while reporting any findings to supervisor
• Communicate work progress and safety performance to the site supervision
• Prepare construction sites as directed from the Foreman/Superintendent on the job
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Valid Driver License with clean record
• Prior experience in directional drilling
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
• Traveling out of town to work on remote job sites when needed or directed by manager
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, reach, stand, climb, kneeling, and pushing
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain in dirt and grass or on streets and sidewalks
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job
• Prior locating experience highly preferred
• Class A CDL preferred
