Job Description:

We’re one of the world’s largest providers of transportation and logistics services. Our customers range from small and mid-sized companies up to global enterprises.  Our Global Logistics and Distribution business unit provides comprehensive logistics services and warehousing solutions utilizing a global network of distribution centers, innovative technology and supply chain expertise to manage the flow of goods from receiving to storage and order processing to shipment.

Supports the movement and growth opportunities for inbound and outbound cargo for freight forwarding customers. Ensures that freight is processed in compliance with governmental regulations (e.g., Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, etc.). Collaborates with vendors, customers, commercial airline carriers, ocean freightliners, and other internal support groups for the movement of international and domestic air and ocean shipments.

Provides specific functional expertise that is theoretical and conceptual in nature. This expertise is typically acquired through a combination of university education and experience within a field. May have responsibility for supervising others in the capacity of a “player coach” but primary focus is individual expertise.

Applies conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Performs a mix of routine and novel work assignments. Analyzes multiple data sources, both qualitative and quantitative, to understand problems related to own job discipline. Solves complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions. Impacts the team’s productivity and quality. Builds consensus among members of the team or related teams regarding technical issues related to own job discipline. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate terminal warehouse operational activities, audit training and safety records and assists in meeting financial goals through reporting and cost reviews.
• Ensure the safety and productivity of employees in a time-sensitive market and that performance goals have been met, maintain inventory accuracy, adhere to quality standards and effectively manage staff. Supervise employees who oversee inbound flow, inventory control and outbound flow activities and supervise operational efficiency.
• Schedule, determine work load and supervise dock employee daily activities.
• Audit and approve time cards daily. Delegate and approve overtime as applicable.
• Plan for changes (e.g., routing changes, left over freight, left over cargo, etc.) to ensure appropriate equipment and personnel are available for loading and unloading customer goods.
• Supervise truck build-up and breakdowns to ensure freight is properly staged and loaded per customer instructions.
• Supervise audit activities to meet compliance procedures results for customs and internal audits.
• Evaluate work areas for potential hazards and determine space allocations to ensure the existence of a safe and clean work environment.
• Participate in monthly cost reviews to assess operational needs and control costs.
• Conduct performance evaluations in a consistent, fair and objective manner to encourage continuous performance improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree - Preferred.
• Logistics or transportation experience.

Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself - Required
