Job entails performing forensic examination and technical detective work of a wide variety of electro-mechanical devices and components including but not limited to electrical panel boards, circuit breakers, building wiring, receptacles, switches, fans/lights, dryers, washing machines, dish washers, baseboard and space heaters, pumps/motors, controls, thermostats, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, power strips and surge protectors, computers, standby generators, photovoltaic arrays, switchgear, batteries of all types, etc. Must also work with commercial equipment such as food service industry appliances, workshop devices, etc.

They provide comprehensive fire investigations ranging from small buildings, vehicles, and heavy equipment to large commercial properties. Their experience in fire investigations, processing fire scenes, testing of evidence, and court experience has resulted in clients recovering millions of dollars.
In addition to fire investigators, they provide electrical engineers throughout several regions, who routinely perform vital scene examinations. The engineering staff offers on-site examinations that may later continue with non-destructive of destructive testing in one of their two state-of-the-art laboratories. Their lab facilities can accommodate as few as 2 and as many as 20 experts, including associated legal counsel and insurance company representatives.
Fire Investigators will:
· Train to become a certified x-ray technician.
· Participate in arson investigations.
· Utilize modern digital microscope and photography technology.
· Utilize standard troubleshooting instruments such as multi-meters and tone testers.
· Write expert reports and fire scene/lab examination observations and summaries which are edited by in-house, trained technical editors.
· Design and build test fixtures and perform testing in a laboratory environment.
· Interface with state and local fire marshals, origin and cause investigators, fire fighters, subrogation attorneys, insurance adjusters, etc.
· Participate in training and teaching opportunities which are available.
· Provide expert testimony in superior and federal court cases.
