Position Summary We are seeking a talented and creative Costume Designer to join our team for an upcoming theater production. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the theater director and artistic team to bring the vision of the production to life through innovative costume design. This role involves overseeing the costume budget, managing the acquisition of costume items, and leading a team of student and parent volunteers. Duties And Specific Responsibilities Collaborate with the theater director and artistic team to design costumes that align with the production's vision. Oversee the costume budget, ensuring all expenses are tracked and managed effectively. Acquire costume items through various means, including pulling from the school's costume supply, securing rentals, making alterations, purchasing items, and constructing new pieces. Comply with all rules and expectations regarding the use of Presentation-owned materials and facilities. Lead and coordinate student and parent volunteers in costume-related tasks, providing guidance and support. Conduct costume fittings for cast members, ensuring proper fit and comfort. Instruct student crew members on the proper use and care of costumes. Ensure all costume items are properly cleaned and returned to their designated storage areas after use. Requirements Education & Experience Experience with Bollywood and/or Dance Experience working in schools preferred Experience teaching skills and strategies that apply to the skill level of the dancers preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Strong background in costume design and construction. Excellent organizational and budget management skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team. Experience leading and mentoring volunteers or students. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
