Our client, a well-established organization located in Madison, WI, is seeking an enthusiastic  Desktop Support Analyst to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 2 years of IT support experience who is eager to grow their career in a fast-paced environment. In this  contract-to-hire, onsite role, you’ll provide essential technical support while gaining valuable hands-on experience with a talented IT team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide  Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to end users for hardware, software, and network-related concerns.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve  desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral issues efficiently.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and upgrades of  operating systems, applications, and hardware .
  • Monitor, log, and follow through on technical incidents and requests using the company’s  ticketing system .
  • Support new hire onboarding by setting up workstations and configuring accounts and devices.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and best practices in the company’s knowledge base.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of IT equipment and assist with tracking and deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in desktop support or a related IT support role.
  • Hands-on experience with  Windows OS , MS Office Suite, and common desktop hardware and software.
  • Understanding of  basic networking concepts , such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Customer-first attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Experience using and maintaining a  ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, etc.).
  • Ability to lift and carry IT equipment as needed (monitors, laptops, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Familiarity with  Active Directory user account management .
  • Exposure to ticket prioritization and escalation processes.
  • IT certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar credentials.
