JOB SUMMARY

Picks copper off moving conveyor, cleans around mil and assists shredder mechanics in changing out conveyors, bearing shafts and greasing. Must have reliable transportation to and from work (remote location, not accessible by bus).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keeps work area clean and ready to go daily
• Keeps conveyor pulleys clean
• Picks copper to ensure that quality material is shipped to our customers
• Reports any issues that arise immediately
• Assists shredder mechanics during projects
• Assists in meeting monthly production goals

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Completion of High School and/or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Able to meet the physical demands of the position including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, moderate to heavy lifting and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day
• Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions
• Willing and able to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in dust, odors, fumes, and noise
• Mechanically inclined
• Self-motivated: Initiates and takes action before being required to do so
• Strong work ethic: uses time efficiently, work safely and making sure everyone around him are working safely
• Strong command of the English language both written and spoken
• Able to communicate clearly using a handheld radio
