Position Responsibilities: This position

- First point of contact for refrigeration problems and concerns
- Diagnose complex mechanical, refrigerant, and electrical problems related to all Reefer systems (single & multi-temp), including engine, cooling, heating and on-board computer modules.
- Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of Thermo-King and Carrier refrigeration units and auxiliary power units
- Perform PM services on all refrigeration equipment
- Complete repairs on diesel power plant and refrigeration systems
- Leak repair, soldering, and welding of refrigerant components
- Evacuate and charge refrigerant systems
- Positive interface with other technicians and leadership from multiple departments
- Keep paperwork updated and properly entered upon completion of repairs
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with affected departments
- Work safely and follow company safety standards
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness
- Ability to work night and weekend shifts (Rotating)
- Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor
Position Requirements (Qualifications and Skills): To be a successful
Refrigeration Technician I you will need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Supply own set of general tools
- Have a 609 Certification
- Meet requirements for 608 Certification
- Ability to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
- Must be able to read, interpret, and follow refrigeration and electrical schematics
- Use computers for web-based training and work order systems
- Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions in a shop environment
- Self-motivated and independent worker
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to complete assigned work
- Ability to shift work focus to changing demands
- Exposure to noise, heat, cold, and other shop conditions
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Completed the Introduction to Transport Refrigeration
- Completed the 1603CD Module 1 - Truck/Trailer - Customer/Dealer Training
- Completed the "Vector" Unit level class thought Transicold Customer Training
