Job Purpose/Summary:
The Crude Oil Marketing Analysis Group partners with the Commercial Organization to develop a detailed annual forecast and quarterly guidance updates for Plains’ lease gathering activities. The Analysis Group also partners with Crude Oil Accounting to ensure that an accurate P&L for each geographic business unit is generated, performs various analysis over the key economic drivers, and communicates those findings to business leaders.

Job Responsibilities:
Analyze and compile Company/Business Unit performance, identifying key drivers of profit and loss.
Prepare detailed variance analysis for geographic business units on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
Develop and maintain annual financial plans, quarterly updates, and monthly profit estimates
Effectively present findings, analysis, and market insights to Company Business Leaders in a clear and impactful manner.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide regular reports and data to inform business decisions.
Manage ad hoc projects and requests.
Design and maintain queries and reports in Microsoft Access to enhance data analysis capabilities.
Assist in the accurate and timely publication of pricing for postings and other pricing mechanisms, occasionally requiring holiday work, either remotely or on-site.
Perform SOX controls and assist with audits related to pricing accuracy and compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in the oil and gas industry.
Proficiency in advanced Excel with strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Experience with MS Access is desirable, including the ability to design complex queries and reports.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management both verbally and in writing.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing work conditions in a fast-paced environment.
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
